My husband Joe and I applaud your efforts and the leading role you play in both advocacy and prevention in the global fight against breast cancer and other preventable cancers.
Many of us involved in these efforts have lost a loved one to this disease – or seen a colleague or friend endure painful treatments in a long battle with breast cancer. Through initiatives like the Congressional Families Cancer Prevention program, you and others have taken personal experiences with this disease and used them to raise awareness and improve access to treatment and education for thousands of other women.
Your dedication and passion are inspirational to women and men everywhere. Today, as we recognize this important anniversary, let us reaffirm our commitment to the ongoing work of prevention, detection, and treatment of this disease as we look forward to a breast-cancer free world.
