ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The Prevent Cancer Foundation® hosted its 11th annual Health Fair and 5k Walk/Run on Sunday, November 3. The event was held at Nationals Park, home to the 2019 World Series champion team, the Washington Nationals.

The Prevent Cancer Foundation brought the community together for a day of healthy fun to support lifesaving cancer prevention and early detection programs across the U.S. Participants also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at Nationals Park, including access to the dugouts and batting cages.

The fun didn’t end after the finish line—attendees were able to check out more than 30 local health and fitness partners at the Health Fair. There were free health screenings, healthy snacks, kids activities and more.

Jennifer Griffin and Lucas Tomlinson of Fox News emceed the event, and shared personal stories of how their lives have been touched by cancer.

The 2019 Prevent Cancer Health Fair and 5k Walk/Run raised nearly $244,000, exceeding its goal of $215,000. Proceeds from the event go directly to the Prevent Cancer Foundation®, the only nonprofit organization in the U.S. dedicated solely to cancer prevention and early detection.
