Our 26th Annual Gala is just a few days away! We hope you’ll join us on September 10 at 8 p.m. ET for an exciting virtual event filled with unforgettable performances, inspiring stories, unique silent auction items and more.
This year’s Gala pays tribute to The Kingdom of the Netherlands: A Virtual Masterpiece in Bloom. Get in the gala spirit by making this year’s signature drink – the Sage Dutch Cocktail – at home.
Sage simple syrup
½ cup water
½ granulated sugar
6-8 sage leaves
Start off by prepping a sage-infused simple syrup. To make the syrup, add equal parts sugar and water over low heat and simmer until the sugar has dissolved.
Remove the mixture from heat, add in the sage leaves and let steep for about 10 minutes.
Remove the leaves and set the simple syrup aside.

½ oz sage simple syrup
2 oz jenever (or gin)
A few drops of aquavit
To make the cocktail, combine the lime juice, simple syrup and jenever (or gin) over ice. Let sit.
Rinse your glass with a few drops of aquavit.
Shake cocktail and pour into glass.
1 oz lime juice
1 oz sage simple syrup
