Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

January 1 - January 31

A diverse group of women gather together, linking arms and smiling.

Cervical Cancer Prevention Begins with Awareness.

Did you know cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers? With your help, we can bring 14,100 people in the U.S. getting cervical cancer every year to zero, but it begins with you.

To prevent cervical cancer or detect it early, get a Pap test every 3 years, an HPV test every 5 years, or a Pap test and HPV test together (co-testing) every 5 years.

Young people ages 9-12 should get vaccinated against HPV (HPV is the cause of more than 90% of cervical cancer cases). “Catch up” vaccination is also recommended for teens and young adults up to age 26. If you’ve been vaccinated against HPV, you still need to get your routine Pap and/or HPV tests.

Learn more about what increases your risk of cervical cancer, when you should get screened, and how to reduce your risk HERE.
