Thanks to you, 600 patients will receive lung cancer screenings

A recipient of the Foundation’s community grants, WVU Cancer Institute’s Mobile Lung Cancer Screening Unit (LUCAS), is partnering with community clinics to deliver this lifesaving service. The program helps patients to overcome obstacles to screening that exist in rural West Virginia.

Mary-Ellen Kirkbride thought she was responding to a lung cancer researcher’s call for help to honor her father’s memory. Little did she know, her own life was about to be saved.
