#GivingTuesdayNow is a new global day of giving and unity, in addition to the Giving Tuesday that is held annually on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. #GivingTuesdayNow was created as a response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. We are answering the call to service by working with doctors and scientists to develop a way to better understand and treat COVID-19.
Cancer prevention and early detection might not be making the news during this pandemic—but it turns out, cancer screening may be an important part of the COVID-19 solution.
For years, the Prevent Cancer Foundation has been a leading voice in advocating the use of lung imaging to detect early-stage cancer and other diseases. And lung imaging can now be used to help researchers understand and treat COVID-19, which can have long-lasting effects on the lungs.
We’re funding leading lung imaging experts to create a database—accessible to all—of lung images from patients with COVID-19. This will help doctors better understand and manage the disease. Together, we can do our part to help in the rapid development of tools to treat COVID-19 and save lives.
