Happy New Congress!

Today, January 6, marks the first day of the 114th Congress and 13 new Senators and 58 new Representatives will start work in Washington, DC. For the first time in 8 years, Republicans will be in control of both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives. Senator Mitch McConnell (Kentucky) will be the Senate Majority Leader (with a 54-46 majority) and Speaker John Boehner (Ohio) will lead the House (with a 246-189 majority). Of course, President Obama will remain in the White House as a “lame duck” President.
